MEDICAL STUDENTS: Istanbul, Turkey Sat 27.6.19
JUSTRI continues its work with Medical Students with a meeting in Istanbul, Turkey on Saturday 27th April.
The topic of conversation is Hepatitis, HIV, Sexual Health & TB including sessions such as “Sex Is Messy”, “History of HIV & the Epidemic”, “Viral Hepatitis & TB”, “How To Talk To Patients” and “Testing & Treating.
Medical Student meetings address the limited teaching around HIV and sexual medicine within the curricula of UK and foreign medical schools, we conduct one-day teaching modules of didactic lectures and Q&A sessions, to improve knowledge and generate interest in HIV and associated conditions for medical students, whatever career path they may take.
I especially loved the “patients’ interactions” session since it presented a real-life portrait and made me realise the struggles he had been through. Also, I loved that every lecturer kept the subjects interesting, so I never got bored or distracted….

All speakers were great. The patient interaction part was the most beneficial because he gave me a view of HIV from his perspective….
